Apply for Youth Programs
2017 Youth Program Applications are now open
Applications will be due May 12th
*Paper copies will need to be signed, scanned and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org OR mailed to our office at 1308 Franklin Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55404.
For both programs, kids choose to be picked up at one of the following times and sites:
Minneapolis: Little Earth Office, 2501 Cedar Ave S. Pickup at 8:00 am, dropoff at 4:00 pm.
St. Paul: AIFC, 579 Wells Street. Pickup at 8:30 am, dropoff at 3:30 pm.
CORA’S KIDS (1-Week Session, June 13-16, 2017)
Cora’s Kids is a four day program for Native kids ages 8-12 out at the Dream of Wild Health farm in Hugo, MN. We will be learning about growing and eating healthy and tasty food, culture, and language along with traditional crafts and games.
GARDEN WARRIORS (4 days each week, Tues-Fri)
Four-week sessions covering gardening, nutrition, physical activity, and Native culture and language for teens ages 13-18. Participants are paid a stipend for their work experience. This is a competitive program so give your best effort in writing your essay!
Session I: June 27 - July 14, 2017 (July 4th, no program)
Basics of organic agriculture and healthy cooking fundamentals. First-time youth are encouraged to apply for this session. Previous Garden Warriors may also participate.
Session II: August 1 - August 25, 2017
Returning Garden Warriors will deepen their knowledge and improve skills from previous seasons.
Berry Camp: July 18-20, 2017
Youth from Garden Warriors are welcome to attend a berry camp on the White Earth reservation. More info is on the program application.
Both sessions will include art, culture, and field trips.
APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY MAY 12th. If you are accepted, you will be notified no later than June 1st.
